Background: 

Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) is a non-governmental organization and social enterprise driven by the desire to have a more transparent and accountable government as well as citizens empowered to actively participate in governance processes. 

Our programs are designed to promote values and initiatives which drive institutional, behavioural, and systemic change on a large scale and in a way that will benefit society and its development.

Introduction: 

This RFP outlines the scope of work for a call for engaging mechanics or automotive workshops for the comprehensive overhaul of a Toyota vehicle in our fleet. The objective is to ensure the efficient and effective restoration of the vehicle to optimal working condition.

Vehicle Details: 

The Toyota COROLLA, 2016 Model, currently in a dilapidated condition, in our fleet, requires extensive mechanical overhaul to enhance the vehicle’s reliability, safety, and longevity for continued operational use.

Scope of Work: The scope of work for the overhaul of the said Toyota vehicle includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

1. Comprehensive inspection and diagnosis of the vehicle’s mechanical components to identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
2. Transmission system inspection, repair, or replacement of worn-out components, fluid flush, and refill.
3. Suspension and steering system evaluation, including shock absorber inspection, bushing replacement, wheel alignment, and steering gear adjustment.
4. Brake system assessment, including brake pad and propeller inspection, brake fluid flush, and brake caliper servicing or replacement.
5. Comprehensive testing and quality assurance to ensure all repaired or replaced components meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Proposal Requirements: 

Interested mechanics or automotive workshops are required to submit proposals addressing the following:

1. Company profile, including relevant experience in overhauling Toyota vehicles and certifications/licenses held.
2. Detailed breakdown of proposed overhaul services, including labor, parts, and estimated timeline for completion.
3. Warranty or guarantee offered on parts and labor.
4. Pricing structure, including itemized costs for each component of the overhaul process.
5. References from previous clients or projects of similar nature.
6. Any additional value-added services or recommendations to enhance the vehicle’s performance and longevity.

Timeline: 

The timeline for the proposal submission will be no later than February 16^th, 2024, to admin@ppdc.org and copying adeyemi@ppdc.org

Evaluation Criteria: 

All proposals received will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Technical expertise and years of experience in overhauling Toyota vehicles.
2. Clarity and comprehensiveness of the proposed scope of work.
3. Cost-effectiveness and competitiveness of pricing.
4. Warranty/guarantee offered on parts and labor.
5. Reputation and references from previous clients.

Selection Criteria: 

The selection of the mechanic or automotive workshop will be based on a thorough evaluation of submitted proposals. Shortlisted outfits may be invited for discussions before final selection.
